Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Banova ("Banova", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Banova web application and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Account information

• Name, email address, and avatar from sign-up or third-party providers (Google).
• Authentication identifiers managed by our backend provider.

YouTube channel data

When you connect a YouTube channel, we request access via Google OAuth and store: your YouTube channel ID, channel name, handle, thumbnail, public statistics (subscriber, view, video counts), and OAuth tokens (access and refresh) needed to upload videos on your behalf.

Content you create

• Ideas, scripts, scenes, hashtags, voiceovers, and generated visuals.
• Drafts and published Shorts metadata.

Usage data

Logs, request metadata, error traces, and aggregate analytics needed to operate the Service.

2. Google API Services & YouTube data

Banova's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, we:

• Only request the YouTube scopes strictly required to upload and read your channel metadata.
• Do not use Google user data for advertising.
• Do not allow humans to read Google user data unless you give us explicit consent, it's required for security, to comply with law, or in aggregated/anonymized form for internal operations.
• Do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide or improve the Service, comply with law, or as part of a merger/acquisition.

You can revoke Banova's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

3. How we use your information

• Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
• Generate Shorts (scripts, voice, visuals) using AI providers on your behalf.
• Upload and publish Shorts to your connected YouTube channel.
• Communicate updates, security notices, and respond to support requests.
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud or abuse.

4. Sharing

We share information only with:

• Infrastructure providers (hosting, database, file storage).
• AI model providers used to generate scripts, audio, and images.
• YouTube/Google when you publish a Short.
• Authorities when legally required.

We never sell your personal information.

5. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from Settings; we will delete or anonymize your data within 30 days, except where retention is legally required.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transport, row-level security on databases, and encrypted storage of OAuth tokens. No system is 100% secure; please report concerns to security@banova.io.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data. Contact privacy@banova.io to exercise these rights.

8. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email.
